Assalamu’alaikum wr,wb  We know in West Kalimantan many destination for your holiday, there is beaches,mountains,hills and waterfalls. Now , I want to tell you about natural beauty by Gunung Bawang. Gunung Bawang also know as  “Bawang Peak”.

Gunung Bawang is a mountain found in the province of West Kalimantan,Indonesia. Gunung Bawang is located in Bengkayang. This mountain has a shape resembling a mountain because it extends about 18 km and four sub-districts in bengkayang district namely Kecamatan Lebang Bawang , Kecamatan Sungai Betung,Kecamatan Lumar and Kecamatan Bengkayang.

Named “Gunung Bawang”, because shaped up to 7 layers like onions. This mountain has altitude of 1460 masl. It is not too high however , the journey to the start of the climb until the summit very stressful and full of stories.

Gunung Bawang has stories that are closely related to the Bengkayang Dayak tribe,Kanayatn Dayak and Lara Dayak. This mountain is a sacred area for bengkayang Dayaks. Beecause the myth from that place is the origin of the Bengkayang Dayak tribe.

From seen from the trip to the Gunung Bawang , climbing there is very enjoyable. The journey to the foot of the mountain must go through the nearest village recommended that Madi Village and Singkabang Village. Hiking trail is (1) Madi Village lane ,and  Lumar Sub-district Bengkayang (the trip can be more than one day). 

For trip to Gunung Bawang via Madi can spend more than one day and must be prepared more carefully , because will spend a lot of road and forest. Very important for the climbers , We must ask residents or accompanied by citizens who already understand the area.

            For via Singkabang Village, Bengkayang Sub-district. This road is the best known because faster and it only takes 8 hours. And the last via Suka Bangun Village Sungai Betung Sub-district. This road is the best known , because access is known or easy.
